Seaborn traffic is served in Cyprus by a modern and highly integrated national port system composed of: the new multipurpose ports of Limassol and Larnaca, the new industrial port of Vassiliko and the three specialized oil terminals at Larnaca, Dhekelia and Moni.
The Auditor General of the Republic is an independent officer and is responsible for the audit of central government, public organisations, local authorities and other public bodies and funds. The Annual Report of the Auditor General is submitted to the President of the Republic, who causes it to be laid before Parliament.
The rapid increase of air traffic at the two international airports of Larnaca and Paphos during the 1980΄s and 1990΄s (Table I) led to the need for the expansion of the two airports. Consequently it was decided in 1988 to prepare masterplans for the construction of new terminal buildings, extension of runways and taxiways and of the airports facilities.
